Why silk is so good for your hair
One of the most coveted fabrics across the globe, many of us already know the benefits of silk in clothing. Lightweight and breathable in addition to being super soft, silk keeps us cool in hot weather and acts as a great base layer in colder climates. However, did you know how much silk can benefit your hair?
Silk is hypoallergenic and antibacterial and the smooth surface is likely to pick up less dirt and grime. The fabric also reduces the friction on the hair (we've all heard the saying "silky smooth hair", well there is a reason silky and smooth go together so well. Keeping hair extensions in a silk bag in between uses can prevent frizz (because the silk will retail the moisture in the hair) and will avoid tangling while you sleep.
Using a silk scrunchie has a similar effect, and one of the best ways to avoid broken strands like many standard hair ties. Silk is especially useful if your hair is curly or tangles easily.
