Nano Extensions: Everything you need to know
Does your hair need a new look or some extra length? Nano extensions could be the perfect option for you! There are so many different types of hair extensions on the market today, each has been designed to make transforming and styling your hair as quick and easy as possible. We get so many questions about nano extensions, so we have created some tips and tricks to help you make the best decision for you!
What are Nano Extensions?
Nano ring hair extensions involves threading them through a nano ring which is secured to your natural hair with small pliers that clamp them into place. The ring is very small which makes it a great option for those with fine hair. They are comfortable and less visible than other types of extensions – people might not even know that you are wearing them!
What are the Advantages of Nano Extensions?
Nano extensions have many advantages but one of the main ones is that its bonds are really small so aren’t visible when worn; the ultimate goal right?! Hair Rehab London offers a variety of shades, making it easier to match them to the root they are being secured to.
Additionally, nano ring hair extensions can last between four and 12 weeks before they need reapplying, as long as they are cared for properly with regular appointments with your hair extension specialist. If nano extensions are fitted properly by a trained hair extension specialist, they should be very secure.
Do Nano Extensions damage your hair?
As long as your extensions are fitted by a trained hair extension specialist, nano ring hair extensions are not damaging to your natural hair. The fitting process does not require heat or glue to secure them to the hair which means they are gentler on your natural hair. The removal process doesn’t involve the typical alcohol or acetone solution unlike the pre-bonded hair extension method which means refittings and removals are chemical free.
Due to the small size of the nano rings, they are suitable for most hair types. However, if your hair is naturally oily or soft/silky, then you might find that they will slip down and become slightly loose. You need to be prepared for this possibility and that you are happy to take this risk knowing your hair type. Your hair extension specialist should be able to recommend a method of hair extensions that are perfectly suited to your hair, so that you are completely happy with the end result.
Take a look at our salon finder to find your nearest hair extension specialist.
The tip of nano extensions are generally metal or acrylic. Both tips are fitted to the hair in exactly the same way but acrylic tips are felt to be more comfortable, more discreet and generally the more superior option of the two tip styles.
